Finding a perfect product to promote - from clickbank

To earn money through affiliate marketing, we need to promote others product or website and thus the key to your online success depends on the right selection of a product/website. I will try to give you some tips on selecting a good website.

#1. Avoid difficult websites:

You must be wondering what on earth is a difficult website, for me a website that is difficult to advertise and thus earn more.

Paid surveys: These sites are heavily advertised by most of the affiliates and thus will not give high return for your investment.

Auction sites: This includes government auctions, car auctions etc. These sites are hard to advertise and don't convert well.

Dieting sites: This type of site is very popular and overly advertised.

Free Music, Games download: These site are illegal at least for advertising with google and you will not be allowed to make a campaign in google AdWords.

# Avoid bad websites:

Websites with pop up windows: Websites with 'pop ups' irritates your potential customer and thus not going to convert well. Google does not allow you advertise websites with Pop ups unless it is a dynamic one.

Websites that are very popular: Do not promote websites that are very popular and are heavily advertised. If you are using Clickbank network for your affiliate marketing, you can know which one is popular by seeing the gravity rating. I usually go for the one which is less than 50 and more than 10.

Websites without a privacy policy: Google (for adwords) prefers website with privacy policy. you can find this at the bottom of a page. This is not very important criteria but that is worth keeping in mind when you advertise with google adwords. (I use Google adwords to advertise my affiliate links, so i would be refering more to adwords in this Hub & Future ones)

Finally: Websites that you don't want to buy something from. If you don't like the website/product that is not worth advertising.

Look for the Following to find a best website:

Contact us page: More people would like to buy a product from a website with a contact us page than a one without it.

Money back guarantee: Websites that provide money back guarantee go a long way in selling more products.

Professional website: Choose a professional website where the details are put intuitively and the visitors are not left wanting for information. Also try opening the website in different browsers to see the look, some website work with certain browsers only.

Now we know to select a perfect product to promote.To get the affiliate links from clickbank goto marketplace. You can see various categories and sub-categories to help you choose the right product.

Here’s what you should look for when selecting a product to promote:
1. Website which looks professional.
2. A product which is not very popular - gravity less than 50 & more than 10
3. A product / company with good commission rate - minimum of $25/sale

Once you find a product to promote simply click the 'create Hoplink' link, as shown in the screenshot below.

When you click the link the following screen will appear where you have to type your clickbank nickname and tracking id (helps to track your sales). 

Once you have done that click the create button, you will be taken to a page as shown in the screen shot below.

In the screenshot shown above the link inside the blue rectangle is called as the affiliate hoplink. You would want to save this link to promote it, just select the link and press ctrl+c and paste it in the notepad or other text editor. Before promoting the affiliate link I would recommend you test it by typing on the browser address bar.

You can also see that I have marked 1 and 2 in the screenshot above, the first is the affiliate nickname and the second one is the company nickname. Now you have the company / product you want, all you need to do is to promote the affiliate hoplink through your website / newsletter or using adwords and start earning money.
